Mark Murphy successfully completed the 2-day PSDP Training Course hosted by Engineers Ireland at their headquarters in Ballsbridge in November 2013. The course covered all current relevant legislation, in particular the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013, which imposes statutory duties on promoters of most construction projects, including the duty to appoint a Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP). The programme was designed to provide engineers who will be appointed as PSDP to carry out their statutory duties with the necessary understanding and skills to perform these duties correctly. The course also covered all the statutory duties and all the essential competences required of the project supervisor for the design process.
